Good grades for Mechanical Engineering

FAU is in the CHE ranking’s top group

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg’s subjects Mechanical Engineering and Education Science are in the top group of the Centre for Higher Education’s (CHE) university ranking. This year the CHE examined the subjects engineering, linguistics, education science and psychology.

FAU’s overall results in Mechanical Engineering were good. With regard to third-party funding, the subject even made it all the way to the top: FAU was among the top group in the research funds category. Another subject featured in the top group is Education Science: it received points for being application- and labour market-oriented as well as for the number of publications.

The CHE collects data for its university ranking once a year. It re-examines a third of all subjects every time, and this time the focus was on the subjects engineering, linguistics, education science and psychology. Information from more than 300 universities and institutes of higher learning from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands is incorporated into the ranking. In addition to data on studying, teaching, equipment and research, the ranking also includes assessments by students regarding the course situation as well as the reputation of the individual schools among the professors of the subjects.
