FAU closed during the holiday season

To save energy during the holiday season, the University will be closed from 23 December 2015 until 6 January 2016. The University Administration service centres such as the Student Advice and Career Service (IBZ) and the Examinations Office will be closed during this period.

University Library opening times

The opening times for the University Library will change during the holiday season. The University Library will be closed completely from 24–27 December, on 31 December, and on 1 and 6 January. The Main Library, the Science and Technology Branch Library and Departmental Library 02: Law in Erlangen, and the Economic and Social Sciences Branch Library and Educational Science Branch Library in Nuremberg will be open on all other days in the holiday period with the following reduced opening hours:

Main Library, Erlangen:

  • Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • The doctoral thesis department will be closed from 28 December to 5 January.

Economics and Social Sciences Branch Library, Nuremberg:

  • Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Educational Science Branch Library, Nuremberg:

  • Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Departmental Library 02: Law, Erlangen:

  • Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Science and Technology Branch Library, Erlangen:

Due to renovation work, the Science and Technology Branch Library will close on 23 December at 10:00 p.m. and reopen on Saturday 2 January at 10:00 a.m. On Monday 4 January and Tuesday 5 January it will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

All other libraries will close on 23 December and re-open on 7 January.
