Faculty of Engineering and Universidade de Sao Paulo sign agreement to intensify collaboration in teaching and research

Prof. Dr. Peter Greil, Dean of FAU’s Faculty of Engineering, has signed an agreement with the Escola Politécnica da Universidade de Sao Paulo in Brazil. The new agreement will strengthen the relationship between FAU and Universidade de Sao Paulo (USP), in particular through an exchange of lecturers, postgraduates and students.

Representatives from the two universities met in Erlangen in October 2015 at the initiative of the Bavarian University Centre for Latin America (BAYLAT) to discuss the conditions of the agreement. Prof. Dr. Günter Leugering, FAU’s Vice President for International Affairs, visited USP a month later during a delegation visit to Brazil.

FAU has maintained a good relationship with USP, the largest university in Brazil, for many years. The collaboration, which is part of the Global Education for European Engineers and Entrepreneurs (GE4) programme, involves regular exchanges of students, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from the subjects book studies and medicine, as well as disciplines in the social sciences, business and economics, and engineering.
