Top results in four subjects

FAU has once again performed excellently in the Centre for Higher Education’s (CHE) current university ranking and is ranked among the best for business law, information systems, industrial engineering and management, and business studies.

Information systems and business studies were each awarded top marks in two categories. Both subjects were praised for the support offered at the beginning of study programmes, as was industrial engineering and management. In addition, information systems was rated highly for the number of its research publications, and business studies for the high number of students completing their degree course within a reasonable time. Business law also scored well in this category. Law was in a strong mid-table position in the categories of doctoral degrees, research funding acquired and the support offered at the beginning of study programmes.

The CHE ranking

The CHE collects data for its university ranking once a year. One third of the subjects are re-evaluated each time. Information from more than 300 universities and institutes of higher education in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands is incorporated into the ranking. In addition to data on studying, teaching, equipment and research, the ranking also includes assessments by students regarding the study situation as well as the reputation of the subject areas among the professors of individual subjects.
