QS ranking published – FAU remains one of the best

FAU is one of the top 150 universities in the world in three individual subjects, according to the latest QS World University Ranking by Subject published by the education information service provider Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). Chemistry is among the top 150, alongside materials science and chemical engineering. Materials science did particularly well, making it into the top 100.

In the areas of medicine, engineering, economics, natural sciences and social sciences, FAU was listed as one of the best 250 universities in the world in eleven individual subjects. This success at an international level is also reflected in national rankings. In four subjects, FAU is ranked as one of the top locations within Germany: materials science and chemical engineering (both 6th place), electrical engineering (8th place) and mechanical engineering (9th place). In the categories focusing on citations and publications, in other words how often researchers are cited or the number of publications they have to their name, FAU came out among the top 3 several times for the subjects chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science and law.

The QS World University Ranking rates 1,130 universities from all over the world. QS includes categories such as academic reputation, citations per paper and employer reputation, which is judged by asking companies for their opinions of universities.
