Brown Bag Break at the Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine hosted a Brown Bag Break at the Translational Research Center (TRC) on Thursday 7 July 2016. The event was held in English. The participants were welcomed by the Faculty’s Vice Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Eckardt. The welcoming speech was followed by a panel discussion on ‘International networking and career development in science’.
The speakers were Matthew Bailey, PhD (physiology; lecturer at the University of Edinburgh), Peter Aronson, MD (internal medicine; professor of cellular and molecular physiology at Yale University School of Medicine) and Aline Bozec, PhD (biochemist and junior professor of osteoimmunology at FAU). After the discussion, participants had an opportunity to network, to talk to the international speakers and to find out about the support services available for researchers at FAU.
The Brown Bag Break was held in conjunction with a summer school run by the international network TRENAL. TRENAL is a DAAD-funded project co-ordinated by FAU’s Department of Internal Medicine 4 in collaboration with partner universities in the USA and the United Kingdom.
