Early Career Support an der FAU
We are a central resource for information on doctoral degrees, postdoctoral research, habilitations, heads of junior research groups, and junior professorships. The services we offer cover the following areas:
- Professional development for doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, habilitation candidates, heads of junior research groups and assistant professors
- Academic career development
- General information on research funding
- Advice on the process of completing a doctoral degree
- Administrative matters relating to completing a doctoral degree
- Bi-national doctoral degrees
- Networking events
The Graduate Center provides support services in all aspects of doctoral degrees and coordinates all structured doctoral degree programs at the institutional level.
The Offices of Doctoral Affairs at the faculties and schools have specific responsibilities including:
- The application of the relevant doctoral regulations
- The admission of doctoral candidates
- The recognition of non-German degrees and degrees in non-subject-specific fields in connection with the admission of candidates (equivalence reviews)
- The initiation and management of the doctorate procedure
Our team members have backgrounds in business and economics, humanities and the social sciences, the natural sciences, and engineering. We are always here to help, regardless of which subject you are pursuing an academic career in.
