Useful information for starting your degree
The introduction events for the winter semester 2016/17 (German) aim to provide new students with important information which will help them settle into university life. They offer an opportunity to ask questions about the structure of degree programmes, problems creating study plans or how tutorials, practicals and seminars are organised.
For new students of teaching degree programmes (Lehramt) for Grundschule, Mittelschule and Realschule, the introduction events at the Department Fachdidaktiken in Nuremberg (German) will be held on 8 and 9 October.
The introduction events take place just before or at the start of the lecture period and should not be confused with regular courses which are listed in the course catalogue with titles such as ‘Einführung in…’ (introduction to…).
The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology also offers its students a Grundlagen- und Orientierungsstudium (German) (introductory course) which takes place at the start of the semester (beginning of October).
Advance information for many degree programmes is available online in the degree programme catalogue and on the faculties’ websites. Advanced registration is required for certain courses and seminars; you will need your student registration number for this. Please refer to the event information which is available online or provided by the organisers.
