Full Professor of Sociology with a focus on transnational labor

at the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy. This is a full-time and permanent position to be filled by the earliest possible starting date.
We seek to appoint a leading expert with an internationally visible profile in research and teaching who will represent the subject of sociology with a focus on transnational labor and dedicated to the structures and change of employment relationships in a comprehensive as well as transnational sense beyond gainful employment and its institutions. We expect an excellent research profile, demonstrated with internationally visible publications, an established research network and dedication to acquiring third-party funding. Experience in interdisciplinary collaborative research is desired. Candidates’ research must be linked to FAU’s key research priorities and those of the Faculty. A willingness to collaborate on developing the profile of the Institute and the Department is expected.
Successful candidates should demonstrate an excellent academic track record in research and teaching at the highest international standards. They should have substantial research experience abroad and/or international cooperations as well as experience in managing research projects and in raising third-party funding. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree as well as a passion for education and relevant teaching experience are prerequisites. Candidates who are able and willing to teach in both English and German are preferred. The position also requires additional postdoctoral qualifications. These should be in the form of a habilitation (postdoctoral thesis) or equivalent academic qualifications. These qualifications may also have been achieved in a non-university context or through a junior faculty position (for example as Assistant Professor).

Tenure-track position as Associate Professor of Digital Industries (salary group W2 with tenure track to W3)

tenure-track position as Associate Professor of Digital Industries
(salary group W2 with tenure track to W3)
at the Institute of Management at the School of Business, Economics and Society. The position is to be filled by the earliest possible starting date for an initial period of six years. FAU offers the long-term perspective of a permanent appointment to a full professorship if the requirements of the tenure evaluation are met.
The endowed professorship for Digital Industries is funded by Bosch Rexroth AG via the Stifterverband and is intended to explore the interaction between digital technologies in industrial value creation on the one hand and the objectives of sustainable economic activity on the other, focusing on the business administration perspective. The Faculty expects well-founded research using methods of empirical social research that ties in with other research priorities at the faculty and FAU. The professor is expected to be willing to collaborate with existing professorships at the School of Business, Economics and Society and other faculties, in particular in the context of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in industrial engineering and management. The professor is also expected to play an active part in encouraging the internationalization of degree programs at FAU, in particular by offering teaching units in English. Candidates should have a background in economics and possibly engineering, and have an excellent academic reputation in digital industrial value creation after having published outstanding publications in the relevant journals. Furthermore, candidates should be actively involved in international networks and committees.
We seek to appoint a leading expert with an internationally visible profile in research and teaching. The professor is expected to conduct research and teach Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in the area of digital industries. The professor is expected to conduct research in digital industrial value creation and will ideally focus on several of the following aspects:
- Digital production and logistics (Industry 4.0 and industrial Internet of Things)
- Digitalization of entire value creation networks and the resulting management strategies
- Digitalization of industrial value creation tailored to the needs of specific sectors or companies
- Sustainability of digital production and logistics
- Digital industrial platforms and business models
The professor is expected to take part in interdisciplinary collaboration together with other departments at the University, with extramural research institutions and with industry.

at the School of Business, Economics and Society. This is a full-time and permanent position planned to be filled by August 1, 2025.
We seek to appoint a leading expert with an internationally visible profile in research and teaching. The professor will be responsible for teaching and researching all aspects of the subject of accounting and auditing. The professor will contribute to the excellent research of the Faculty and FAU with internationally competitive research in these areas published in relevant prestigious national and international journals. We expect an interest in participating in interdisciplinary collaboration with the Institute for Finance, Auditing, Controlling, Taxation (FACT), within the Faculty and FAU, and with external partners. The professor will be responsible for teaching foundation courses as well as specialist courses in accounting and auditing at Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral degree level in German and in English. Teaching and research should have an academic focus but also be of practical relevance. The professor is expected to not only have experience in raising third-party funding, but also to be prepared to raise new third-party funding for their research.

The professor will be responsible for teaching and researching all aspects of international and European tax law and European law. Candidates should have made a name for themselves in research with relevant national and international top publications and research prizes. The professor will be involved in teaching degree programs in business and economics and degree programs taught in English at the School of Business, Economics and Society. An interdisciplinary background, preferably in the area of economics and social sciences, and international experience is therefore desirable. We also expect the professor to become involved in the key research priority of tax at the School of Business, Economics and Society.

Full Professor of Clinical Nuclear Medicine (salary group W3) (tender period extended)

Full Professor of Clinical Nuclear Medicine
(salary group W3)
at the Department of Nuclear Medicine. This is a full-time and permanent position planned to be filled by April 1, 2025. The professor will also be appointed as Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine.
We seek to appoint a leading expert with an internationally visible profile in research and teaching. We are looking for an individual who has several years of management experience in both clinical and scientific areas and both the team and goal-oriented leadership skills required to manage a medical department. We expect the successful candidate to work closely with the neighboring disciplines of diagnostic imaging and other departments at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen (including rheumatology, endocrinology, oncology and cardiology), both in research and clinical fields (hybrid imaging and therapy methods).
Imaging and medical technology are an important research focus area at the Faculty of Medicine and other faculties of the University, and these fields have been significantly strengthened by strategic appointments in recent years. We wish to continue this positive development by appointing a professor with an outstanding research profile, suitable third-party funding and internationally recognized scientific achievements.
Furthermore, the professor will be expected to collaborate with the research networks (including NCT WERA and DZI), Collaborative Research Centers and Research Training Groups at the Faculty of Medicine, FAU and other clinical departments of Universitätsklinikum Erlangen.
The professor’s teaching obligation is based on the teaching obligation regulations for Bavarian universities (LUFV). Degree programs taught at the Faculty of Medicine include Medicine, Dentistry, Molecular Medicine (BSc and MSc), Medical Process Management and, together with other faculties, Medical Engineering and Integrated Immunology in partnership with other faculties. The professor will be expected to participate in teaching these degree programs.
