Top photographer and world traveler

He is the second most traveled person in the world and one of the most sought-after travel photographers: FAU alumnus Michael Runkel. Newspapers like the New York Times or travel guides like Lonely Planet publish his pictures. He has traveled to all 193 UN nations and shot more than 2 million photos, including over 650 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Michael’s desire to travel was awakened as a child when he read the books by Karl May. In our video he returns to FAU after 20 years and talks about his time at FAU, the special features of his pictures and the stories from his travels.
