FAU’s 280th birthday: Win a big PLAYMOBIL Margrave!
Anyone who joins the FAU Community network on 4 November 2023 will be entered into the prize draw
Margrave Friedrich of Brandenburg-Bayreuth was a great patron of the arts and sciences. One of his most important achievements was the founding of our university in Erlangen on 4 November 1743, which is why the PLAYMOBIL special figure “Frederick III” holds the FAU’s founding charter in his hand.
FAU’s founding father would surely have been pleased if he had known during his lifetime that 280 years later his university would be one of the largest and most innovative research universities not only in Germany, but internationally. With almost 40,000 students, around 6,500 staff and more than 6,000 graduates each year, the FAU family is a strong community that thrives on exchange, mutual inspiration and support.
The FAU Community, the online platform for the entire FAU family, allows students, researchers, staff, supporters and alumni of the university to network. Members not only benefit from valuable contacts, but also from many other advantages.
To celebrate FAU’s 280th birthday on 4 November 2023, we will be giving away an (almost) life-size PLAYMOBIL Margrave Friedrich III among those who register as new members of the FAU Community on that day!
The second and third prizes are a lovely tote bag from the FAU Alumni Network with a surprise content.

You can also register in the FAU Community directly at the FAU’s birthday party, the Dies academicus! The celebration will take place on 4 November 2023 from 11 a.m. in the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg and the FAU family is cordially invited. Registration is not necessary.

If you register as a new member of the FAU Community on the 280th birthday of our FAU, 4 November 2023, you will automatically be entered into the prize draw.
The draw will take place on Monday, 6 November 2023 and the winners will be notified directly by FAU Alumni Management via the FAU Community Portal.
The PLAYMOBIL figure can be collected from FAU Alumni Management at Henkestraße 91, 91052 Erlangen.
The Alumni Network prize bags will be sent by post to the winners of the second and third prizes.
Conditions of participation
1. To take part in the prize draw, you must have registered as a member of the FAU Community on the day of 4 November 2023 and confirmed your account.
2. The raffle will be closed on 5 November 2023.
3. The winners will be drawn on 6 November 2023 at random from all participants and notified directly by e-mail via the FAU Community.
4. Please check your email and postal address in the FAU Community so that we can contact you if you win.
5. The Playmobil figure must be collected by the winner from Henkestraße 91, 91052 Erlangen.
6. The community would love to see a photo of the lucky winners with their prize!
