Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Munich
Founded in 1759, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, one of Germany’s oldest scientific academies, is not only a traditional intellectual society but also an important institution of international significance. It focuses primarily on fundamental research in the sciences and the humanities, mainly through large, long-term research projects. Since 2010, the Academy has been promoting excellent young talents from all disciplines with its young academy (‘Junges Kolleg’).
