Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (Fixed-Term Research Contracts Act, WissZeitVG)

To protect employees, fixed-term employment contracts are only permitted in Germany under certain conditions. For this reason, the Fixed-Term Research Contracts Act (WissZeitVG) was introduced to allow a certain degree of flexibility for fixed-term contracts in academia. The WissZeitVG was amended in March 2016.
