The doctoral phase is a very intense period of close collaboration with your supervisor. Rarely, this relationship comes under strain, particularly when not everything progresses according to plan. Within the framework of an appreciate university culture and a good working atmosphere, we view conflict as a potential opportunity for change and development at our university.
All members of FAU have the right to seek advice from a point of contact they can trust in conflict situations.
Guidelines on preventing and dealing with cases of discrimination and harassment
The Guidelines on preventing and dealing with cases of discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment at FAU and Universitätsklinikum Erlangen came into force on June 1, 2021. The guidelines are based on the General Equal Treatment Act (Allgemeine Gleichbehandlungsgesetz, AGG). However, as this only applies to members of staff at FAU and UKER, the guidelines specifically include all students and external parties (who are associated with either FAU or UKER). At the same time, these guidelines set out transparent rules governing FAU employees’ legal rights to file a complaint.
