Students and students participating in exchanges and exchange programs (such as ERASMUS, direct exchange) can only study at FAU within the framework of a valid partnership agreement between the universities or a scholarship program.
First of all, students apply for a place on the exchange at their home university. After the application at their home university is successful, the home university nominates the prospective exchange students to FAU. As the next step, students have to apply to FAU for an exchange place.
General conditions and selection criteria for participating in exchange programs
- Enrollment at the home university with the aim of obtaining a degree (including doctoral degrees) for the entire duration of the time spent studying abroad
- Sufficient knowledge of the language of the country or the teaching language (German/English)
- Sufficient knowledge of the subject to be able to study the desired degree program at FAU
- Possible faculty-specific prerequisites from FAU (please refer to partnership agreements for direct exchange programs)
- In the case of KA171 Erasmus students, the home university selects students on the basis of their academic achievements.
