Student communities

Student communities enrich everyday life at our University by providing a wide range of activities, support and spiritual guidance.

Evangelische Studierendengemeinde (ESG) – the Protestant student community

ESG Erlangen is a lively meeting place for students of all subjects who would like to take part in church services, discussions and social projects. ESG encourages discussions about religious and ethical topics and provides a space for personal development and shared experiences.

Katholische Hochschulgemeinde (KHG) – the Catholic student community

KHG is a community of Catholic students who engage with faith, science and society. It offers weekly church services, discussion evenings and spiritual retreats. KHG provides support to students on their spiritual journey and helps new members to integrate with its friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Muslimische Studierenden Gemeinde – the Muslim student community

The Muslim student community at FAU provides a space for students of the Muslim faith to share ideas about religious, cultural and social topics. With regular prayer meetings, seminars and inter-faith meetings, the community contributes to a culture based on openness and respect.

Ecumenical initiatives and University church services

As well as the activities offered by the individual religious communities, the student communities also work together in ecumenical initiatives. Joint projects and events promote mutual understanding and dialog between the different faiths. Each of these communities not only provides spiritual support, but also practical support during your studies and beyond.
