Knowledge and technology transfer

The university’s goal in the context of knowledge and technology transfer is to establish the quickest route from research findings to mature products and services in partnership with industry and to make a positive contribution to developments in society. The Office of Knowledge and Technology Transfer (wtt) initiates and supports collaboration between the University and companies:

For companies, it is the first port of call if they wish to access expertise at the University. For chairs and consultants, it acts as a partner for all issues relating to contracts, and is involved in administrative and financial project management.

wtt advises companies on a needs-oriented basis in their search for suitable cooperation partners within the University.

The main advantages for companies of cooperating with the university in this way are:

  • Reduced costs, additional innovations, and increased flexibility
  • Free search for and referral of suitable partners at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and, if required, throughout Bavaria
  • Access to the latest research findings, new technologies, and renowned experts
  • Strengthening competitiveness through practice-oriented continuing education for employees
  • Support for finding suitable public funding programs
