THE World University Ranking by Subject – FAU performs well in national and international competition

Engineering, Medicine and Business and Economics among the top 10 in Germany

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) has performed well in the international subject ranking published by Times Higher Education by maintaining its excellent positions and gaining ground in Medicine and Psychology.

Business and Economics at FAU is once more ranked among the top 200 worldwide and continues to hold ninth place in the national ranking. Subjects listed in the top 200 include Computer Science (national rank 11), Life Sciences (national rank 15), Engineering (national rank 6) and Psychology for the first time (national rank 15). Medicine, including dentistry, performed particularly well this year, counting among the top 200 internationally and entering the top 10 in Germany for the first time, coming in at 9th place.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings has been published annually since 2004. It is compiled in collaboration with Elsevier and counts as one of the most influential international university rankings beside the QS World University Ranking and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). In the current edition, more than 1500 top universities were evaluated based on 13 indicators relevant to teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook.
