Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology honours FAU Ambassador

Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Bronfen has been awarded an honorary doctorate of philosophy by the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology. Dean Prof. Dr. Rainer Trinczek presented the certificate during an award ceremony. The degree is awarded in recognition of Prof. Dr. Bronfen’s contribution to the humanities, academic communication and the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology at FAU, which she has had close ties to for decades.

Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Bronfen is the holder of the Chair of English and American Studies at the University of Zürich, and was appointed a Global Distinguished Professor at New York University in 2007. She has been an FAU Ambassador since 2019, the first woman and the first humanities scholar to be given this honour.
