Shanghai Ranking 2025: success for FAU on a national and an international scale

Renewed success in the current Shanghai Ranking 2025: FAU has advanced a total of four places in the international comparison, landing on place 242. Compared to other universities in Germany, FAU has advanced one place to rank 17th overall. In the category “per capita performance”, FAU is ranked 95th, once more among the top one hundred universities in the world.

One of the leading institutions in Germany for number of publications

FAU remains in the top 200 for the number of publications in the prestigious journals Nature and Science, ranking 164th. In the category of the most highly cited researchers, FAU improved by 12 places to place 255.  The best indicator achieved by FAU in comparison to other German universities also relates to publications, with FAU coming in 10th for the overall number of publications.
