Prof. Dr. Kathrin M. Möslein, Professor of Information Systems, Innovation and Value Creation and Vice President Outreach at FAU, has been elected as a member of the Academia Europaea. The Academia Europaea is a European, non-governmental association with the aim of promoting education and research for the public good. Its 5,500 members are outstanding researchers in their fields, among them 88 Nobel laureates.
“Election to the Academia Europaea is a great honor. Europe needs strong networks of excellent science in order to effectively shape innovation and social progress – the Academia Europaea offers a unique platform for this, which I would like to contribute to,” says Möslein.
About Prof. Dr. Kathrin M. Möslein
Kathrin M. Möslein (born in 1966), is professor of information systems, innovation and value creation at the School of Business, Economics and Society at FAU. She studied computer science and business studies at Technische Universität München (TUM), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. After completing her doctoral degree and habilitation in business administration at TUM, she became Chair of Strategic Management and Organization at Leipzig Graduate School of Management. She has been Chair of Innovation and Value Creation at FAU since 2007. Since the early 1990s, she has been researching, teaching and providing advice in the area of strategic innovation and innovation systems.
Her current research focuses on innovation strategies and technologies and innovation ecosystems. Together with the Fraunhofer IIS, she established the JOSEPHS research platform as FAU’s open innovation lab in Nuremberg city center.
She has held various positions, including as associate director of the Advanced Institute of Management Research (AIM) at the London Business School, as dean of research at FAU’s School of Business, Economics and Society, as a member of the Business School Panel of the UK Research Excellence Framework (UK REF), as vice president of the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) and as vice president and president of the European Academy of Management (EURAM), which appointed her as its first German fellow in 2015. She is currently a member of the Standing Committee for Transfer and Cooperation of the German Rectors’ Conference, a member of the board at Leipziger Stiftung für Innovation und Technologietransfer, a member of the Strategy Committee of the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency (BayFIA) and research professor and academic director of the Center for Leading Innovation and Cooperation (CLIC) at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
