Program overview
What is the degree program about?
The FACT Master’s degree program is a full-time interdisciplinary degree program in finance, auditing, controlling and taxation that lasts two years.
The degree program builds on solid basic knowledge of these subjects and enables students to choose their own specializations according to their interests. This is made possible through a wide range of specialization options with an interdisciplinary focus that students can combine in a variety of ways.
The Master’s degree program also helps students to prepare for the state examinations for tax advisors. Students acquire academic knowledge with a high level of practical relevance. Traditional teaching methods are complemented by a range of case studies, projects, field trips and workshops with partners in industry.
For further information, please visit the German WiSo website or the degree programs website.
This degree program is taught in German. Therefore, a good knowledge of German is an essential prerequisite to successfully completing the degree program. Proof of German language proficiency at DSH 2 level or equivalent is required for admission.
The degree program consists of compulsory modules (30 ECTS), elective modules (60 ECTS) and the Master’s thesis (30 ECTS). Students have the opportunity to complete a semester abroad and credits awarded by foreign universities can be recognized.
- Students are obliged to complete six compulsory modules worth 5 ECTS each, that establish a common interdisciplinary foundation with content from the four FACT areas.
- The elective modules (approx. 60 ECTS) comprise the module groups „Finance and Insurance“, „Auditing and Law“, „Controlling“, „Taxation“ and „Interdisciplinary Modules“.
- Due to the extensive so-called professional field-specific „menu suggestions“ available for selection, the study program can be designed extremely flexibly: Both an interdisciplinary specialization across several fields („FACT-generalists“) and a narrow specialization in one of the fields („FACT-specialists“) are conceivable.
- The master’s thesis completes the program in the fourth semester.
The FACT degree program is aimed at all students who are interested in an academic education that will prepare them for careers in finance, auditing, controlling and taxation.
The degree program aims for graduates to acquire the qualifications needed to work in the areas of controlling, banking and insurance, investment, risk management, finance, management, investment banking, accounting, tax consulting, business consulting and auditing.
