Take a test run as a student

There are many ways that budding students can get a feel for university life even while still at school. There are the annual FAU school pupil information days in September and events organised by the individual subject departments (German).

For talented and motivated young people in classes 11 and 12, we have an early entrance programme (German) to enable them to start a degree course at FAU while still at school.

During the winter semester 2011/2012, FAU participated in the Bavaria-wide project ‘Unitag’(German) of the Bavarian State Ministry for Education, Science and the Arts. This is a scheme designed to encourage elite young scholars and it enables highly talented school pupils to get a taste of various study subjects at FAU and helps them select an appropriate degree subject.

Why not take a peek  at what it is like to be a university student? For example, during the Whitsun and autumn holidays in Bavaria, the summer and winter semesters at FAU are still in full swing. If you ask them, lecturers may be willing to allow you to sit in on certain of their lectures. The Student Advice and Career Service will gladly give you tips and make contact for you.

You can find more information on the taster courses website (German).
