Scholars at Risk Network
FAU has been a member of the Scholars at Risk Network (SAR) since the beginning of 2015. The network supports researchers who are put under political pressure, threatened or persecuted because of their research. Further information is available on SAR’s websites.
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation – EURAXESS network
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) provides funding for research collaborations between excellent German and international researchers. The AvH EURAXESS network serves as a special information centre and help desk for internationally mobile researchers. It provides information on funding options, social security and taxes, visa and entry, kindergartens and schools, as well as other subjects concerning researcher mobility.
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides German and international students and doctoral candidates with funding for stays abroad. In addition to information on its scholarship programmes, DAAD also provides general information and useful advice on living and studying in Germany.
Federal Foreign Office
The Federal Foreign Office website contains a wide range of helpful advice and information about everyday life and culture, and study and research in Germany. It also provides key information and useful links to help with questions about entry and residence.
Federal Office for Migration and Refugees
Comprehensive information about important topics regarding entry and residence is available on the website of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). It also contains links to publications with general information about living in Germany.
The Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science and the Arts provides information for international researchers about funding opportunities and transfer of knowledge.
