Tasks:
- The Equal Opportunities Officer promotes and monitors the implementation of the Bavarian Equal Treatment Act (BayGIG) and the Gender Equality Plan with respect to non-academic staff, and supports their enforcement. They also introduce their own initiatives to advance the implementation of the BayGlG and improve the situation for women, as well as helping both men and women balance work and family commitments.
- Within the scope of their responsibilities, they are involved in all matters that may be relevant to gender equality, work-life balance, and ensuring equal opportunities.
- Their duties include providing advice for all questions relating to matters of equality as well as providing support on an individual basis. Employees can contact the Equal Opportunities Officer directly (Section 17 BayGlG).
- The Equal Opportunities Officer is responsible for drawing up the university’s gender equality plans in accordance with Section 4 et seq BayGlG.
- The university’s organizational units must support the Equal Opportunities Officer in fulfilling their duties, inform them of important relevant developments at an early stage, and involve them in such developments.
With effect from December 1, 1996, the position of Equal Opportunities Officer was created in accordance with the Bavarian Law on Gender Equality (Bayerisches Gesetz zur Gleichstellung von Frauen und Männern, BayGlG).
