University administration

University administration provides services to ensure that FAU can fulfill its research and teaching tasks. It comprises various different levels that collaborate closely with each other:

University Administration (ZUV) has several units and departments that are responsible for central administration tasks such as managing student records, human resources and finances.

Each of the faculties has their own faculty administration that is responsible for supporting the administration of academic affairs and bridging the gap between ZUV and the faculty. They focus mainly on administration matters relating to teaching and on certain areas of human resources and financial management.

The decentralized university administration consists of the administrations of the departments, institutes, and chairs. They are structured differently in accordance with the different subject cultures and traditions.
