Revamped Bachelor’s degree program in Business Studies to start in winter semester 2022/23 at FAU

The School of Business, Economics and Society (WiSo) at FAU has completely revamped its Bachelor’s degree program in Business Studies in a bid to encourage new students. From winter semester 2022/23, the new degree program at the Nuremberg campus will open its doors to the first intake of students.

The Bachelor’s degree program in Business Studies will offer nine forward-looking specializations including traditional areas such as marketing or finance but also pioneering new fields such as data science and business intelligence, sustainability or digitalization, innovation and entrepreneurship. These will continue to be closely linked to the areas traditionally focused on during a business studies degree such as business administration, economics, information systems and business education.

Splitting the degree program into a larger number of smaller specializations like this will also allow more personal contact not only among students but also explicitly between teaching staff and students, which was not always possible in this extremely popular degree program in the past. Students can choose one of nine interdisciplinary specializations from the outset, before deciding on one of the focal areas from the third semester. This gives students the option of specializing in particular areas of work from an early stage or to prepare for a specific Master’s degree program.

Thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of the degree program typical for the School of Business, Economics and Society in Nuremberg, the new degree program will offer one of the most wide ranging choice of subjects throughout all German-speaking countries as of autumn this year. In addition, the School maintains strong links to businesses, organizations and key figures in industry. Partnerships with enterprises from all sectors ensure that students can enjoy teaching with a strong practical focus, as well as providing graduates with opportunities for getting a successful foothold in the job market. Founded as a college with a strong practical focus, the School continues to be an internationally visible university think-tank and a sought-after local partner in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.
