Insurance service providers, industrial companies, online retailers, public administrations - they all work with data, albeit different data. Databases regulate the storage of and access to information. At FAU, too, research is conducted on databases, data treasures are unearthed and information is stored.

At FAU, sustainability is not only researched in many areas, but also worked, taught and lived sustainably. The Green Office supports the university in this. Coordinated by Sebastian Hemmer and Dr. Katharina Fuhrmann, the university management has put precisely this into practice and already achieved quite a bit.

The Regional Computing Centre Erlangen (RRZE) is getting two new high-performance computers, Alex and Fritz. But there is more to it than that, because the RRZE is now one of eight German centres for National High Performance Computing (NHR).
