Television broadcast about people who drive innovation at FAU

The television broadcast ‘Wir sind #FAU – Innovation leben’ (We are #FAU – Bringing innovation to life), which was dedicated especially to alumni celebrating the anniversary of completing their doctoral degree who were unable to celebrate with us either this year or last year, focused on outstanding personalities and alumni from research, industry and the media, whose unusual career paths and innovative projects were born at FAU. Among the prominent guests in the studio were Nobel prize winner Prof. Dr. zur Hausen and the economic expert and FAU professor Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm. There were also reports on and interviews with the young researcher Dr. Silvia Budday, who has already received several awards for her research, the successful theatre director Jan Bosse and the actor Bjarne Mädel.

Young, innovative start-ups established by FAU alumni were also introduced, such as Smart City Systems, who are the market leaders in smart parking. What makes this broadcast special is that viewers can vote which start-up should be honoured with the FAU Innovator award during this year’s Dies Academicus in the category for alumni.
