Special accolade for FAU: Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is the university with the most research training groups (RTG) in the whole of Germany. Currently, the German Research Foundation is funding 14 RTG at FAU.

“This outstanding success underlines the quality of support early career researchers receive at FAU and the great esteem early career researchers enjoy at our university,” says FAU President Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger. “That apart, this excellent achievement indicates FAU’s strength in research: Research training groups with an interdisciplinary focus demonstrate the special potential of a university that offers the entire spectrum of academic disciplines and thereby facilitates excellent research across subject boundaries.”
