Awarding scholarships to students, early career researchers, and doctoral candidates at FAU in the subjects of mathematics, physics, chemistry, technical biology, geology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, energy engineering, and process engineering.

The foundation supports the internationalization of FAU, particularly by awarding scholarships for study abroad, participation in summer academies, and language courses for participants from Germany and abroad.

The foundation supports deserving and eligible FAU students from the city of Amberg or the district of Amberg-Sulzbach with doctoral scholarships. It also awards the annual “Karl Giehrl Prize” for an outstanding doctoral degree.

The Luise Prell Foundation promotes and supports research and teaching at FAU and awards prizes for outstanding academic theses.
Applications for funding for a scientific project at FAU must be submitted by April 9, 2026 (final deadline!) to the following address: katrin.lindner@fau.de. The maximum amount of funding awarded per project is up to 3000 euros. The meeting to decide on funding recipients will be held in late April 2026.
Professor Klaus Riedle-Stiftung
The foundation supports teaching and research at the Faculty of Engineering of FAU and at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI) in the field of power generation.
