Varied, unbureaucratic, helpful: More than 65 foundations support FAU directly or indirectly. Some support education and science in general, others support specific fields or research projects while others focus primarily on social and charitable causes. What they all have in common is that they help to improve individual opportunities and create new possibilities for science and research.

Supporting foundations does not involve large sums of money. Even small amounts or donations secure the financial basis and often provide quick and unbureaucratic assistance. We are therefore glad to receive every type of financial contribution.
Investment structure and sustainability
As a state institution governed by public law, FAU pursues a secure, cost-effective and profitable investment structure as part of its orderly asset management and the foundations it manages. In accordance with these guidelines, another important criterion for us is that assets are invested in securities that comply with ethical standards and take sustainability requirements (ESG criteria) into account. Divestment is also addressed within the scope of asset and risk management with regard to the transition to a low-carbon economy. These criteria are taken into account during collaboration with financial institutions as well as with the administration of foundations at FAU.
