Tasks:
Working group 1: Projects
- Processing finances for all programs run by International Affairs
- Managing the scholarship programs run by International Affairs, scholarships for students nearing completion of their degree program, mobility grants, Meyer-Stiftung, Grün-Stiftung
- Coordinating the PROMOS program at FAU
- Coordinating the STIBET program at FAU
- Advising international students enrolled in a degree program (on questions for which Academic Affairs and Student Services is not responsible) together with the working group Mobility
- Technical support for the Mobility Online database
- Responsible for international marketing measures within International Affairs
- Monitoring international demand and providing feedback to Communications and Press
Working group 2: Mobility
- Coordinating Erasmus program at FAU
- Providing advice on applying for funds from German or international mobility programs (excluding research)
- Incoming: International students, researchers and administrative staff coming to FAU:
- Providing advice for international students enrolled in a degree program at FAU on questions not relating to their degree programs
- Supervision and admission of exchange students, organization of orientation courses and buddy program
- Administrative supervision of international placement students at FAU
- Outgoing: Going abroad from FAU (students, researchers, administrative staff):
- International mobility advice for FAU students studying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programs, including funding options for partnerships across FAU
- Providing advice on guest lectureships and training abroad for members of staff
- Coordinating international cooperation agreements and strategic partnerships across FAU
Working group 3: Welcome
- Providing advice for international doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers on all issues not relating to the subject, in particular right of residence and enrollment and support in problems relating to content, language or culture
- Designing, organizing and carrying out intercultural seminars for mobile international researchers and for university staff in contact with international researchers
- Providing advice for internationally mobile researchers’ families on childcare or school attendance, organizing suitable places at school and in childcare, providing advice on the topic of financial support.
- Arranging accommodation for international students and researchers
- Organizing and implementing the FAU Integra project (forum for integration and intercultural dialog).
