University elections: Submit nominations now!
A call for all members of FAU: Stand for election in the university elections and submit nominations from April 23 until May 6!
At the beginning of June, staff, students and doctoral candidates at FAU will elect their representatives to the Senate, the Faculty Councils and the Appointments Council of the School of Theology.
Students are also able to vote on who is to represent them in the Student Council and the Student Committees.
The term of office of the new members begins on October 1 and lasts for two years, the term of office for students and doctoral candidates is one year.
The university elections are being held exclusively electronically for the first time, postal voting will no longer be possible.

Why should I vote?
Getting involved in academic affairs enables members of FAU to participate in the most important decisions that are made about the structure and organization of the University and to shape teaching and research. Student representation is for students discuss their goals and make decisions that they pursue further in Faculty Councils and in the Senate.
The election for the doctoral candidates’ representatives will take place at the same time as the university elections. All doctoral candidates can vote for the speaker and the deputy speaker for their faculty. The elected members form the Doctoral Candidates’ Council.
Submit nominations from now until May 6 to the Elections Office
Election nominations for all individual committees can be submitted from April 23 until 4pm on May 6, 2025 to the FAU Elections Office (Freyeslebenstraße 1, 91058 Erlangen, level 03, room no. 03.5234). The forms are available on the website of the Elections Office.
Voting has never been easier!
The link to the electronic polling station will be shown in the election portal during the election period from June 4 until June 12, 2025. You can access your polling card from the election portal from the beginning of May. You need an activated FAU IdM user account to access the election portal. People eligible to vote who do not have a fully activated IdM account will therefore receive their polling card by post and should apply for and fully activate an IdM account via the IdM portal by May 12 at the latest. If you have not fully activated your IdM account by May 12, you will receive personalized log-in credentials (PIN and TAN) by post in good time before the election in order to be able to log in to the electronic voting system directly using the PIN/TAN procedure.
