Tasks:
- Early career support: Central point of contact and service unit for young researchers, including the Graduate Center
- Cross-faculty professional development program for young researchers (program from Graduate Center and FAUnext)
- Administration and optimization of the processes for obtaining a doctoral degree, quality assurance and improving service quality, in particular with respect to the FAU Office of Doctoral Affairs, and designing and maintaining systems for recording and managing data on doctoral candidates
- Advice on academic careers and other career paths
- Support and advice tailored to young researchers (including funding applications, concepts for boosting the skills of academic staff, support in evaluation of young researchers)
- Assistance in establishing doctoral programs, both internally and in collaboration with non-university research institutions and industry to establish projects aimed at supporting young researchers
- Support and quality assurance for processes in cooperative doctoral degrees (e.g. Bavarian Academic Forum BAYWISS) and with international partner universities
- Support for doctoral candidates and young researchers in establishing networks (internal, regional, national)
- Supervising FAU’s partnerships with extramural research institutions and industry in projects for encouraging young researchers
- Development of strategic programs for young researchers
