Knowledge comes with responsibility As a university, we shape society – with research, teaching, outreach activities and a commitment to making a difference. At FAU, social responsibility means activities, services and collaborations that boost health, strengthen diversity, respect human rights and raise the visibility of solidarity: on the campus, in the region and across the globe.

KNU-FAU Alliance
On July 14, 2022 the partnership agreement between Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU) and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) was signed by Prof. Dr. Volodymyr Bugrov, the retired rector of KNU, and Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger, President of FAU.
Since then, a wide range of activities have been set in motion. These include joint projects funded by the foundation Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre, the DAAD and Erasmus+. They also include projects aimed at supporting Ukrainian students at FAU (funded by the foundation Möller-Stiftung and #FAU4Ukraine) and at supporting students, researchers, lecturers and staff at KNU (funded by #FAU4Ukraine).
Anyone can contribute via the FAU Innovation Fund, under #FAU4Ukraine: betterplace.org/de/projects/82531-fau-innovationsfonds.
