Schlossgartenfest 2025: A summer’s night in Erlangen

FAU celebrates 69th Schlossgartenfest

On Saturday June 28, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) once more invites visitors to a very special summer evening in Erlangen city center: the Schlossgartenfest. Visitors can look forward to a varied program including live music, a discovery trail and culinary delights.

FAU President Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger is very much looking forward to the Schlossgartenfest: “The Schlossgartenfest is our annual highlight, celebrating science, demonstrating our close links to our region and attracting sponsors and friends of the university alike. A varied program with music, art, culinary delights and the FAU discovery trail that gives exciting insights into research at our university will all make the evening one to remember. I would like to invite you all to come on June 28 and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the Schlossgarten, against the backdrop of the Schloss and the Orangerie, and I look forward to welcoming many guests.”

Close ties between FAU and the region

Like in previous years, guests can look forward to dancing to live bands. Bask in the special atmosphere lit by light installations, admire the stilt walkers, and pose for a souvenir picture at one of our photo points. A discovery trail invites visitors to combine their stroll through the Schlossgarten with an insight into the world of science, for example sampling tasty science cocktails demonstrating scientific concepts from bioprocess engineering or materials science and engineering. The evening is not only an occasion to see and be seen and to dance the night away. With its unique historical atmosphere in the heart of Erlangen, the garden party creates a lively connection between FAU, the region and the people who live and work here.

All tastes are catered for: Franconian specialties, Indian cuisine, pasta, Belgian fries and Currywurst, as well as various vegetarian and vegan options. For dessert there is coffee, ice cream and pastries. Various bars will offer refreshments, including the FAU gin Tinctura Anatomica. The highlight of the evening will be the firework display that will take place at the Hugenot fountain and at the rear of the Schlossgarten.

If the weather is poor, the Schlossgartenfest will be rescheduled to Saturday July 5.
