Pilot project for attracting international postdoctoral researchers/young researchers
In 2020, FAU received the Henriette Herz Prize from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for a concept for active recruitment of outstanding young researchers from abroad called FAUattract. The Humboldt Foundation itself is also committed to attracting international young researchers with its Henriette Herz Scouting Program.
FAUattract is currently being set up as a pilot project with the Faculty of Sciences.
Our intention is to provide a service for identifying suitable excellent candidates for our chairs and departments and subsequently trying to attract them as researchers to FAU. The processes are supported by innovative digital tools.
Suitable young researchers are identified for the position in question during a screening phase. We use the automated digital approaches of FAU networks as well as online data sources during this phase. During the profiling phase, we define a strategy for attracting candidates that is tailored to each candidate so that they can be addressed personally by the Dean during the negotiation phase During the subsequent accompaniment phase, a network of various service departments at FAU become active to ensure the onboarding process for the candidates runs as smoothly as possible.
The aim is to make the services currently being developed as part of this pilot project available to a larger number of professors at FAU as a service in the medium-term.
This means that active international recruiting will become an accepted practice in the sense of mainstreaming internationalization at FAU.

What do I have to do?
Register in the FAUcommunity or if you are already registered, set a checkmark in your profile at FAUattract under “Subscriptions and services”. If we receive a request for outstanding young researchers from your field, we will send you an e-mail asking for suggestions for suitable candidates.
