Information on events

Registering for an event

All events organised by the Graduate Centre are listed on the ‘Seminars and events’ website.

Please note that doctoral candidates must be registered in the docDaten doctoral database in order to participate in our seminars.

You must register separately for each event via StudOn.  Click the ‘Registration’ link in the relevant event description to register in StudOn.

After registering you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If the event is subject to a fee you will receive a second e-mail before the event with details on how to transfer the fee. Please note that there is only a limited number of spaces in each workshop. If an event is fully booked we will add you to the waiting list and inform you if a place becomes free.

The information events are free of charge and open to everybody.

Cancelling your registration for an event

If you are unable to attend an event, please cancel your registration in StudOn.

You can cancel your registration for events that are subject to a fee free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the event. Fees for seminars or events after this time will only be reimbursed if your space can be reallocated or if you submit a doctor’s certificate confirming inability to work (Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung).

Seminar fees

Details of the fees (own contribution) for seminars run by the Graduate Centre are given below. Fees are based on the length of the event.

Seminars and events are free of charge for enrolled doctoral candidates.

1 day

  • Standard fee: EUR 50
  • Reduced fee (for employees with a 75% position): EUR 40
  • Reduced fee (for employees with a 50% position/scholarship holders/minimum fee): EUR 25

1.5 days

  • Standard fee: EUR 80
  • Reduced fee (for employees with a 75% position): EUR 60
  • Reduced fee (Reduced fee for employees with a 50% position/scholarship holders/minimum fee): EUR 40

2 days

  • Standard fee: EUR 100
  • Reduced fee (for employees with a 75% position): EUR 75
  • Reduced fee (for employees with a 50% position/scholarship holders/minimum fee): EUR 50

Weekly courses

50 euros per course for ‘Intelligent Conversation in English’ and ‘Presentation Skills in English’

Certificate of participation

After attending a workshop you will receive a certificate of participation and a receipt confirming your payment has been received.

We welcome suggestions for workshops and information events for the next semester.
