A Bachelor’s degree is an academic degree program that is the first degree that can be gained at university level. It usually lasts six semesters. During their Bachelor’s degree program, students complete a range of compulsory and compulsory elective modules that are tailored to their chosen subject. These modules can include lectures, seminars, practical exercises and lab work, for example. A Bachelor’s degree is usually completed by writing a Bachelor’s thesis, after which students are awarded their Bachelor’s degree.
Cooperative degree programs combine a Bachelor’s degree with professional practice, enabling dual study models through the combination with vocational training or practical phases in a company. Cooperative study is possible in many degree programs and fields of study. The overview shows only a selection of the combinations offered; further information on the various options and on combining academic study and vocational training can be found on the page on cooperative degree programs.
